Are we on our way to socialism?

The President is using the economic problems to enact every Liberal, Progressive, Socialist idea that the Left in America has never been able to get done.
Slippery slope hell, we are on a water slide!

When I heard President Obama go on about how the only way to stop a "catastrophe" is to rush a Trillion dollar spending Bill (see quote below) all I could think of is the scene from the movie Ghostbusters where they talk about the consequences of unlocking the gate (see below). It is just as ridiculous.

Obama: "If we do not move swiftly to sign the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act into law, an economy that is in crisis will be faced with catastrophe. Millions more Americans will lose their jobs. Home will be lost. Families will go without health care. Our crippling dependence on foreign oil will continue. That is the price of inaction."

Ghostbusters:
Dr. Peter Venkman: This city is headed for a disaster of biblical proportions.
Mayor: What do you mean, "biblical"?
Dr Ray Stantz: What he means is Old Testament, Mr. Mayor, real wrath of God type stuff.
Dr. Peter Venkman: Exactly.
Dr Ray Stantz: Fire and brimstone coming down from the skies! Rivers and seas boiling!
Dr. Egon Spengler: Forty years of darkness! Earthquakes, volcanoes...
Winston Zeddemore: The dead rising from the grave!
Dr. Peter Venkman: Human sacrifice, dogs and cats living together... mass hysteria!

Soon the Preident and the Dems will be talking about dogs and cats living together!
